I won’t give up…

When you start a relationship of any kind there is never talk about the future. You tend to just be focused on how much you enjoy that persons company and what you experience from being with them. Yet somewhere down the road that all seems like it is supposed to change.
You soon start to wonder about the future. You start wondering where things are headed and what that means for your whole life. You start trying to make life choices at such young ages that you might not agree with 10 years from now.
By that point you are so focused on what is supposed to happen, where you are supposed to be and that god damn five year plans you may have forgotten what was important in the first place. You start to forget about living your own life and just loving.
You may even have started to forget that  life isn’t about the social constructs and “getting to the finish line” it’s about enjoying every moment with the people you love.
So what if your not doing what your parents did or what they want you to do. Who cares if society treats you different for your life choices. All that matters is that you are happy, loved and living to the fullest.
With that said the idea of giving up one thing in hopes for another is one thing I’m giving up in 2013. Along with trying to follow a plan that was created by my 17 year old self. Things that future cassi can deal with can wait until then.
All I know is that in this moment I couldn’t imagine losing any of the people in my life. Relationships come with give and take and I’m willing to give a little if it means waking up every day for the foreseeable future with these same people in my life.

It’s a Chrismukkah Miracle

4 years ago, Jaime and I bonded over our love of the OC, Seth Cohen and our favorite tradition from the show Chrismukkah. It was then we decided that we were going to bring Chrismukkah back and every year since then we have been spreading the holiday cheer by mixing our favorite parts of both holidays. Chrismukkah started as just the roommates and girl friends of the boys who lived in the Nashua apartment. But since then has grown into just another way for us to throw a party, eat lots of good food and have a great time with our good friends. This year was no different.

This year Chrismukkah fell on the 8th of December and was just as amazing as we hoped for. It is great having so many friends who REALLY get into the spirit of this made up holiday. The food and drinks were all created by different attendance of the party and of course the Moses Swap went.. Well a little more interesting than we thought it would. 😛

This years Christmukkah brought one more surprise. Miss Jaime (who will be getting married in August!!) asked me to be one of her bridesmaids!!!! 2013 is already starting to look good and we haven’t even made it into the new year!

All and all it was a great night with great friends, food, drinks memories and of course the Chrismukkah tradition of Pigs in a Blanket.

I hope everyone else is having a great holiday season!
Cheers xoxo

Thankful for

November is the month of thanks. The holidays are starting and people are really begin to think about the things that mean most to them in life. Many of my friends spent the past month posting everyday what they are thankful for. But sadly I just didn’t have the time or attention span for that .So instead of doing one thing a day I was thankful for I figured I’d wrap them into one long-winded post for the closing of November.
So for your reading pleasure my November 2012 thankful list.
